Sean Cortis

Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer

Sean is a strategic leader with founding roles in healthcare across Australia, Asia, and the USA. As a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and a Chartered Tax Advisor, he has held multiple CFO and corporate advisory positions. Sean serves on boards and advisory roles for various global businesses, ranging from professional services to healthcare. He is a founding director of Miskawaan Health Group, which operates medical clinics across Europe and Asia and CFO of Meizon Innovations. Additionally, Sean founded and served as CEO of United Dental Corporation, partnering with leading dentists in the USA.

Liz Ferentinos

Co-Founder and Director

Liz brings over 30 years of experience in commercial operations, successfully leading start-up SMEs in the life sciences sector. Liz is also Co-Founder of Esfam Biotech and Co-Founder and Director of Meizon Innovations. She excels in corporate governance, capital allocation, and portfolio management, with a strong background in project management. Liz is skilled in human resources and M&A, adept at managing organizational change and fostering positive workplace culture. Additionally, Liz offers external business consulting, providing strategic insights to help organizations achieve their goals. Her versatile leadership has consistently led to successful outcomes.

Prof Chris Sobey

Co-Founder, Chief Scientific Officer and Inventor
Professor Chris Sobey is a Distinguished Professor and co-Director of the Centre for Cardiovascular Biology and Disease Research at La Trobe University. With a PhD from the University of Melbourne and postdoctoral training at the University of Iowa, he is an internationally recognised expert in vascular biology, cerebrovascular disease and stroke research. He has authored more than 280 peer-reviewed publications with more than 32,000 citations, and has made significant contributions to understanding the oxidative and inflammatory mechanisms underlying stroke and other vascular diseases. Professor Sobey was a lead investigator on the completed Phase I I-ACT clinical trial, which demonstrated the safety of amnion cell therapy in acute stroke patients, and now leads the ACT2 Phase II clinical trial evaluating its efficacy. His research and leadership are helping to advance regenerative cell therapies for stroke and improve outcomes for patients worldwide.

Sonja Brock

Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer
Sonja is a therapeutically endorsed Optometrist with over 30 years experience working in practice and in the health system. She has experience in research through working at the CCLRU. Sonja is a founding shareholder in a number of Biotech companies and has worked alongside the CEO, Sean Cortis, developing start -up and commercialisation strategies for many entities. Her experience extends across numerous facets of business development including research, website development and project management.
