Understanding Stroke

A stroke occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted or a blood vessel ruptures, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients. Within minutes, brain cells begin to die, often leading to long-term disability or loss of function.

Stroke remains one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, affecting millions of people each year. Although emergency treatments have improved survival rates, there are no therapies available to help stop and repair damaged brain tissue after a stroke. Only Rehabilitation.

Our Solution

Human Amniotic Epithelial Cells (hAECs)

Amnio Bio’s therapy is based on Human Amniotic Epithelial Cells (hAECs), naturally occurring cells obtained from amniotic membranes of donated placentae after healthy births. These cells possess unique anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties that make them a promising candidate for stroke recovery.

Unlike many stem cell therapies, our treatment does not form tumours and does not require patients to take ongoing immunosuppressants.
